>>22655682xerxes and nbz were the first two youtubers that I saw that uploaded great WiFi battles with great narrations. I really owe it to them for introducing me and possibly many others into competitive Pokemon because of their videos.
It's quite unfortunate to see their channels slowly die over the years though. They both really fell off the grid after Gen IV died despite of their popularity throughout the entire generation.
With rematch generation, it was becoming noticeable that nbz was becoming burnt out from doing Pokemon for 7 years now. He realized that the amount of effort he put into his videos was progressively decreasing more with each upload and said that he isn't invested as much anymore in creating any more Pokemon content in the future. His effort was essentially a waste as his channel wasn't experiencing any noticeable growth either, no matter the content of his videos. Pokemon was becoming stale for nbz and mentioned he's basically retiring from pokemon (although not entirely). Expect a Pokemon video from time to time just not as frequent. Also to check out his podcast as he's really into that.
Xerxes, 7-8 years later, hasn't gotten with the times yet and is still recording his DS with a potato. His video quality is roughly the same as it was when he first started out. He's still refusing to move on to the newer generation of Pokemon and will not leave Gen IV behind. He's sticking with Gen IV cart battles as Pokemon content for his channel although most of subscribers left already when he started uploading long ass fuck videos of other games that no one asked for which killed his channel even more. Sooner or later, he's not going to have anymore Gen IV battles saved and he's going to eventually need new content for Pokemon.
