So supposedly, someone has combined all the Pokemon maps together into one.
I question the legitimacy of this as I thought all of the Pokemon regions were based off Japan.
Thoughts about this /vp/?

You thought wrong.

Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are based off Japan. Unova is based off New York City and the surrounding area. Kalos is based off France.

That, and if whoever made this is going to take the anime into account by including the Orange Islands, then the map is wrong for yet another reason. According to the anime, Unova and Kanto are separated by an ocean, with the Decolore Islands spanning between the two.

This must be from the brief period when some people were in denial about Unova's basis. /vp/ was full of "Unova is based on Hong Kong" threads. It was nice to see that finally debunked just before B/W came out.

serebii's is likely most accurate if they are all together, but you have to turn it sideways and rotate Sinnoh so Mt....uh whatever it is, is the highest point north.

Since Kalos is based on france, and Unova on the US, those two are farther away from everything else. It should look more like an actual world map rather than squeezing all of the landmasses together.

sevii islands are supposed to be easily accessible via ferry in kanto, but looking at map, you'd have to all the way around hoenn AND sinnoh just to get there.

Plus most of the native pokemon on sevii islands are a mix of johto and hoenn pokemon, so they should be somewhere in between, not smashed way off west of sinnoh.

Only 2 pairs of regions actually connect with each other and only one of those pairs has any conecting routes (so far).

Kanto and Johto can be physicaly travelled between in gold and silver so everyone knows they're connected, but Unova is directly South of Kalos, the rivers forest and mountain ranges and most tellingly even the clouds on the official maps all match up perfectly.

This also shows that the locations of regions in the pokemon world are not in the same location as the regions they are based on in our world.

Orre and Unova are America. Kalos is France with more filthy Frenchmen and less filthy mudslimes, and the first 4 regions are all Japan.

It would be nice to see a region based off of Denmark. Zealand would make a great later half of the game. End game could be at the crest of Swedcuck land.

Well what other team is red suppose to have, random mons? Having 3 starters then 2 pokemon that are just given to you makes sense, pikachu is the mascot basically so that also makes sense, Snorlax isn't really given but he's not in the wild either and blocks a path

That's where you're wrong. The pokemon regions are just based on real places. It's not like there is a city in japan called cerulean city where there is a fucking gym leader named misty and a powerplant and shit. Remember that swimmer in XY who said hed swam all the way from Hoenn? That wouldn't be possible if Hoenn LITERALLY is south japan and Kalos LITERALLY is France.
