I need some help/info. I'm playing OR for the first time. I never played gem 3, and I would like to know, what the best starter is. Like, what is the least abundant starter type in the game?

Doesn't matter. Just Google their final evolutions, see who you like most and pick that one.
The game is that easy to give you any trouble, no matter who you pick.

Blaziken has the most moves to use in the story, Swampert a close second.

Sceptile is really lacking until postgame tutors and TMs, I was sort of disapointed.

If you pick Treecko, pick up Grass Pledge in Mauville, it'll be an 80BP special move you'll be keeping with you all game.

It's the best you'll get unless you wait until postgame to get Energy Ball or heart scale Leaf Storm. And of course Dragon Pulse is resort tutor.

If you choose Treecko, you'll want to pick up a Makuhita to help against Wattson's Magnemite/Magneton. You can ditch it later though.

Blaziken gives you the most options for a team. Very fun.

Swampert is easy mode and honestly not too fun.

Which did I choose? I played through four times. I used each one a seperate time, and then in the last playthrough I used all of them.

I recommend Blaziken.

Well I personally think that mudkip is the most versatile starter you can get in ORAS and gen 3 in general. Even though I prefer blaziken.

Reason being is that you have the type advantage with the mudkip line in 3+ gyms, combined with it makes a good HM slave if you don't want to use your starter a lot. Can learn strength, rock smash, surf, waterfall, ect.

Of course a fire/fighting also has a lot of potential in gen 3. You would think hoenn having a shitload of water a grass type might be a good bet, but nope.
