Altaria has to watch out for Poison, Ice and Steel, so running fairies that can beat these types or force them out is a good idea.
Klefki resists ice and is immune to poison and can actually run a semi-decent attacking set with Prankster Calm Mind and Iron Defense to boost its bulk.
Scarf-togekiss can run Flamethrower to deal with steel types, but there's not too much that can actually switch in on a steel hit so running a few coverage moves on your fairies to deal specifically with steels is ideal.
For a Special Altaria, run Flamethrower, Heatwave of Fire Blast depending on how strong and accurate you want to be.
For Physical Altaria, which I prefer, Earthquake should deal with the steel types.
Just make sure as many fairies as possible run a way to beat Steel so you don't have to sack switch.
