>>22661978It's more than just a possibility, I've never skipped a Pokemon game and Charizard has been an old favorite of mine for a long time.
I may not have kept one as a staple in my party in every game, I dropped him as a regular in my team during Gen 4 and didn't use it at all in Gen 5, but it's still always at least been in my box of favorites.
It really wasn't until XY introduced Mega Evolution that I started to love using Charizard again and made him a regular on my competitive team. Mega Y is definitely my preferred form, and I really think that's the one that should have been it's true Mega.
I don't really like Mega X personally, but I don't necessarily hate it either. Shocking, I know. I think all the pandering X gets instead of Y makes me a little annoyed, but that's about it. Game Freak is just pandering to what the kids think is cool, and that just happens to be Mega X. Works out for me though, just means I have the advantage in most Charizard vs. Charizard matches. Majority of they time they'll go Mega X right into a Dragon Pulse, which is always amusing to watch.
