Ice still only resists two types, one being itself. Make it resistant to grass or something.

You do know that most people don't even run Toxic on mons like Chansey anymore, right? Probably Heatran if anything is the most common Toxic user in the game, and it barely runs the move. Toxic stalling is already bad, no reason to make it worse.

Because Dragon is shitty enough as it is. One of the worse types in the game, definitely down there with Rock and Poison.

And also Fairy is OP as shit and has no reason to exist. The game was paradoxically better before Fairy was added.

Yes. It makes the game boring when the majority of what people use is the same set of Pokemon, and since a large portion of the commonly used Pokemon are of certain types, it gets boring.

There are only 2 non-legendary Dragon type Pokemon in OU. Meanwhile a former trashmon like Clefable is made OU because it got changed to a certain type. That's horseshit. Most Dragons would actually be better off being a different type, whereas most fairies stand to lose if their type was changd.

Psychic is a shit type that's populated by some excellent pokemon. Buffing it would be imbalancing, like here you've completely broken mega metagross for one thing.

The type isn't as full of good 'mons as you would expect. Alakazam has a surprisingly low BST. Reuniclus' movepool is sparse. The Lati twins are goddamend legendaries. Pretty much the only good non-mega, non-legendary Psychic type Pokemon is Slowbro, who is great because he's also a Water type.

That's all the decent to great psychics (for singles an doubles.) Feel free to point out that it's mostly legendaries and megas, but note that the best pokemon for every type are going to megas and legendaries that outclass most of the other type; psychic just happens to be saturated with them.

Bronzong isn't good anymore. This isn't Gen 4. Gothitelle is only good since its counters were banned, so in VGC Gothitelle is far weaker than it is in Smogon singles. Starmie is only coming back in Smogon because, again, its counters got banned.

BoltBeam nerf hurt Starmie more than you would expect.

How? Every pertinent problem from Gen 5-6 has been dealt with. There'll still be more problems to deal with (like Dark types having 1 good STAB move that is only useful because it got overbuffed), but it's in a much better place than it has ever been at that point.

This had been a mid to upper B pokemon for awhile, long before Greninja ban. The only real argument for "its counters got banned" is that Aegislash isn't around to spinblock it, which only applies to smogon singles anyway (Starmie is bad in doubles.)

There are many Pokemon it can't switch in on. When every team has a Greninja, Aegislash, or Mega-mom, then it sees very little use because it can't switch in until they're dead.

Also: Every ghost type Pokemon, since they're immune to Shadow Tag.

Lolno. Especially not after Gen 6. Its one niche was that it had one weakness and could survive to set up dual-screens thanks to switching. Now that Knock-off and Sucker Punch are coveted and on every team, it has a really hard time doing much of anything, especially since some faggot crab will just come around and smack the light clay right out of its hands.

Got shit on by most of the currently banned Pokemon. Greninja? Could switch in on anything besides Bolt and then KO Starmie. Aegislash? Spin blocking, as you said, and Shadow Sneak to let it outspeed and kill if needed. Mega-Mawile? Could easily set up on it or OHKO it with a Sucker Punch. Mega-mom? Sucker punch or set up. Mega-mence? Kill before being hit by Boltbeam.

You can argue that it isn't even that successful right now, either, since a lot of its power came from its perfect Sp. Atk tier for the use of Bolt-Beam. The -5 power of BoltBeam really, really did hurt it, and Defog is far more common thanks to Immortal-bird.

Bisharp became A+ tier OU simply because Spinning became largely obsolete and Defog became really popular.

You can use the same arguments for basically everyone pokemon; Aegislash, Greninja, Mega Mom, Mega Mence etc. basically every pokemon benefited from their ban because they shat on everything.

e.g. Latios was checked by Mawile, RKed by Mega Mence and Greninja, pursuit trapped by Aegislash, and Sucker Punched by Mega Mom.

No it's not. Defog is more common because it's easier to fit on a team, there's more viable defoggers than there are spinners. However, spinning has a lower cost; defog teams can't utilize hazard stacking, which is very big.

At any rate, Starmie is a Keldeo check that auto-heals burns and provides hazard control, which is a pretty good mix
