Best Fossil, even with maxed out bulk, can only switch in safely if Talonflame's not packing a Choice Band. If it is, that high chance to 2HKO means it's only 13.3% likely that you'll get to do anything before a pair of Brave Birds take you out.
If you're lucky, though, literally any Rock-type move Armaldo throws at it ought to OHKO. And you can lay Stealth Rocks down to put on the pressure. But they can just U-Turn out for chip damage, bring out something that counters you, and keep their bird tucked away until the threat's been eliminated. And if you set up Stealth Rock because you expect them to switch but they just attack again, you're dunzo. Because I can't think of a single other Bug-type that could conceivably stop Talonflame.
