This would be an odd decision, given that on a lot of Pokemon, the last 30, 40, even 50 levels are pretty dull. Especially since there's no evolution to look forward too, and often not many attacks. It'd make more sense to spice up the existing levels than to just extend the grind.
Although I've no doubt some would love the extra grinding. What if the extra 50 levels only unlocked after you completely finish the story? Easy post-game for Game Freak, everyone's happy. Also, I appreciate this was probably a troll.

Well, if we're going to seriously discuss it, I don't think it's a good idea. Games like World of Warcraft's expansions rely on a regular level cap raise, but it's completely futile. It's just a way of repeating the same content over and over, it really adds nothing new. Some don't mind that, it's not necessarily a criticism for WoW, but Pokemon already has ways of adding new content without raising the level cap, so I can't see much reason for it.

What if your trainer that you play as has something called a trainer level that boosts the power of your pokemon.

so the trainer has a max level of 50 that he levels up but catching pokemon or doing special tasks.
so you pokemon will have a max level of 100 but with a max trainer it can have the power of a level 150 pokemon.

Maybe to bring another goal to the grinding scene.
Game freak could drop the o powers and join it with the trainer level. The trainer level could also boost EV gains and EXP gains for their pokemon.

I like that. O-Powers are a pain in the ass, if you could gain them another way, I'd support that. Maybe you could have a sort of talent tree, so you could decide what to level up as you gain each of your 50 levels? So, someone who does a lot of breeding would spec into egg-hatching first, etc, etc.

Well, you might think so, and that's absolutely fine. I agree they're not complicated to understand or anything, I don't like the way you obtain them; in ORAS, I just got them all in one go, which wasn't very interesting. I don't particularly like the way they level up, and I don't like having to open up the PSS to activate Hatching Power every few minutes.
For me personally, I'd like this proposed method more. It's okay if you disagree though, Anon! ✿

Pokemon already takes place in a world where pokemon can get stronger - it's called mega evolution, and they get +100 BST and a new design.

Imagine the next games: 'NEVER SEEN BEFORE; INCREASED LEVEL CAP!!!'

Literally nobody would fucking care. Actually, if getting to level 100 was now a requirement to beat some gym leaders - most would hate it.

Aggron's fully invested defense is about 5x that of chansey's, whether level 50 or level 100.

A bigger gap is determined only by a bigger ratio.
