>>22682531Pretty much. I don't feel like I'm wasting my time, because I'm only ever doing it in my free time or while doing something else that doesn't require constant attention anyway.
I just like setting shit up ahead of time to be as efficient as possible, then rolling the dice. I like to figure out what the optimal way to do something given a set of rules and then do it. It's not hard to get 6IV fathers legitimately for all the breeding groups now (save the genderless ones, of course), even for foreign ones, because you can both select your language no matter where you bought the game in Gen VI and we have Poke Bank, which isn't tied to any one save.
For instance, I was
>>22679823. It's a nice feeling to have it pop out perfect, especially in only a box or two of eggs, when there was no real assurance of it beyond you stacking the deck as much in your favor as possible. I've had it happen even earlier, though nowhere near as perfect or unlikely.
>>22682664You could flip the question around: If you're going to inject perfect mons, why even spend 40 dollars on a cart to play by GameFreak and Nintendo's rules, if all you want is perfect mons for competitive to begin with?
It's just how people like to play. Hell, I can even think of a few reasons myself:
Looking at
>>22674408 makes me rather nostalgic for Gen I and Missingno. It's just kind of fun to fuck with the game and see what happens. I plan to screw around with it more myself once I have more time to actually properly focus on it. I even had a third party GB save copier back in the day, and had fun copying my Silver save file to Gold and vice versa just to see if it would work. The save editor is actually the most interesting for me, because as much as I love autistically bicycling, Nintendo's save back up is ludicrously behind the times. I wouldn't be surprised if other long time breeders were also considering using it to back up saves because of how much they've invested in them.
