Has anyone discussed this much before? In playing on Showdown I've found that a lot of times in a situation where you might expect a switch if you just pick your move and your opponent hasn't moved yet you can just cancel and switch to a more advantageous thing, like a boost or coverage for the incoming pokemon, because it would appear 9 times out of 10 the opponent is using that time thinking on what to switch to and implementing the switch.
