Why did the english dub feel the need to have the Pokemon not make noises but instead simply say their name over and over. Any episode that the dub could make watchable is ruined by SLY-SLY-SLLLLLLLYVEON.....etc etc.

Why not just noises?

You think this is exclusive to the dub?

Origins was the only time the pokemon made noise instead of retardedly repeating their names, but that applied to both languages.

Agree there, I always thought pokemon saying their names was really dumb, even in the games it seemed like a majority of the pokemon on the oveworld just made weird noises.

Origins confirmed my suspicion that the name thing was bullshit made for the anime.

Too bad anime is the prime canon now.. we'll always have talking pikachu in smash and all spinoff games..

I figure it's two reasons;

A)Back in genwun Pokemon cries were just low quality 8-bit fart noises. While some of those were kinda decent given the tech, they couldn't translate into a television program. B)Marketing, by saying their names in the cartoon, younger kids would know what Pokemon was what. Ben 10 and Digimon do this shit too, albeit in a less obnoxious manner.

Now what excuse do the writefags here have for pulling this bullshit in text?
