Help me understand /vp/. From what I understand, in order to make a poke that's competitive, you have to either

>catch the poke
>catch a ditto with good ivs
>catch more good iv pokes on the chance you dont find a good enough ditto
>keep on breeding these pokes until a desired one is obtained
>breeding requires you to constantly use the bike to move around while it hatches
>you have to then go to the iv checker each time to see if the poke is good enough
>potentially have more work to do if you need egg moves
>then have to go through EV training
>this is done 6 times for a team
>all but fucked if you want a legendary on your team

or you can

>edit all your desired stats and inject the poke in

That being said, why are there so many people who constantly defend the first option when all it is is adding more tediousness to get the same result? I just don't get it.
