What's /vp/'s opinion on X/Y/OR/AS? I'm considering getting them but I'd have to buy a 3DS as well since I don't have one.

ORAS is good if you don't care about the Battle Frontier. Skip XY and wait for Z/XY2 that should be coming out sometime this year.

Keep in mind, pokemon is a piss easy game. Nobody ever found any pokemon game truly challenging ever, you can just waste time grinding.

Most fun I had with pokemon in about 7 years when it came out, easily 9/10 game.

Even beats X/Y in terms of general enjoyment, though the pacing slows down a little bit at times. Dexnav is literally the greatest addition ever. 9.5/10

XY managed to outdo even Kanto as the most bland, and boring region in years. The story was balls to the wall retarded and not in a good way. Champion was completely forgetable. And as always with generational resets, it dropped a shitload of great things introduced in the previous games. If a third version/sequel is made, it will probably be the first mainline pokemon game I skip.

The handholding in ORAS isn't so bad I guess because Hoenn is a region I've cleared so many fucking times now. It's bothersome thinking that it'll be in later installments however.
