Alright, I finally got around to doing this. I went through and identified what I personally felt were shit-tier designs in every generation. Some background:
> Started with Gen 1 when I was 10 in 1998.
> Played Gen 1, 2 and 3 on release
> Took a break until college, then got a DS and played Gens 4 & 5
> Played Gen 6 last year.
> Favorite Gen is 2.
Some conclusions I came to while doing this:
1) Gen 1 has a lot of forgettable, generic animal designs. I think a lot of older anons like myself give it a pass because it was the debut of Pokemon and it was a whole new world to us at the time
2) Gens 3 and 5 have a ton of lazy-ass copies. So many Pokemon where the base design is just colored two different colors and shoved out the door.
3) Gen 6 is the return to form for the series in terms of design. There are a lot of genuinely well-thought out, well-designed, interesting Pokemon.
Lets have a discussion on designs, and tell me what you think.
