Its crippling ability is the main problem with it, not it's stats. If your willing to use a mon that would give your opponents free turns to set up for a potential sweep your better off using something else more reliable. If they gave it any ability that isn't as crippling as Truant,Slow Start,Defeatist etc(even something as shitty as Run Away) it'll probably be catapulted to Ubers since it would be basically Mega Kanga 2.0

Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it wouldn't put in work in OU but it would depend mostly on the ability in question, in your case you said that even something like Run Away would do it, that alone would hold it from uber since its basically no ability and stats alone. Like said, power creep is real thanks to the likes of megas and pure normal isn't the best typing to have on an offensivemon.

I know, hence why it was a face of terror. It basically means you can focus on its balk and is a solid way to deal with things like slow volt turners that rely on taking damage and bringing something in with no prior damage. That or let the enemy wear itself down while you slack off comfortably second.

Base stats, you mean, not base stat total.

Some Arceus formes are complete shit in Ubers despite their high "base stat TOTAL." Breloom is also hanging around in OU despite its average stats except for attack.

I think you're arguing semantics, but whatever. Base stats don't make a mon, sure, but it can kill a mon in the same ways as abilities and typing. The shitty arceus formes are still relatively good because of their movepool and high bst.
