It's probably less of a serious pokemon event and more of a "hey remember when we were 3 and played this?" sort of deal, so I doubt they'd include anything recent. It's college, people do this shit all the time

Considering out of those people only two people said gen 1, that's a shitty point. Besides, these are the same people who make events like these. It's a throwback "when I was your age" thing. I'll bet you can find people who will swear by kick the can. The 'myth' of it all is people who play recent gens, and still find that gen 1 is the best in their opinion.
