Imagine if they completely rebooted the pokemon games for the 20th anniversary:

>new objectives and challenges beyond the 8 Gyms journey
>new battle mechanics
>new battle styles and techniques
>Mega evolution as standard
>tweaked base stats to take account for power creep in later gens
>tweaked type chart
>updated movesets and maybe even updated typings

Imagine they announced Pokemon Neo Red and Pokemon Neo Blue, a new beginning in a new Kanto that has been expanded and reformed into something completely fresh.
