>>22760753how the math works:
every type combination starts at 0 points
for every immunity, 0 points are added
for every x4 resistance, 0.25 points are added
for every resistance, 0.5 points are added
for every neutral matchup, 1 point is added
for every weakness, 2 points are added
for every x4 weakness, 4 points are added
the lower the final score, the better the type combination is!
obviously, type1 / type2 and type2 / type1 have the same resistances/weaknesses/etc, so I only list one combination.
these values are purely numerical and unbiased. obviously, having a weakness to Fire sucks a lot more than having a weakness to Steel, but the math treats both equally.
25 Ghost, Normal/Poison, Normal/Fairy, Water/Poison, Water/Ghost, Water/Fairy, Poison/Fairy - 17
24 Fire / Water - 16.75
21 Dark / Steel - 16.5
21 Electric / Ghost - 16.5
21 Electric / Flying - 16.5
17 Ghost / Fairy - 16.25
17 Psychic / Steel - 16.25
17 Grass / Steel - 16.25
17 Fire / Steel - 16.25
14 Poison / Dark - 16
14 Electric / Steel - 16
14 Normal / Steel - 16
12 Ground / Steel - 15.75
12 Poison / Steel - 15.75
8 Ghost / Dark - 15.5
8 Bug / Steel - 15.5
8 Fighting / Steel - 15.5
8 Electric / Fairy - 15.5
6 Normal / Ghost - 15
6 Steel - 15
5 Water / Steel - 14.5
3 Dragon / Steel - 14.25
3 Ghost / Steel - 14.25
2 Flying / Steel - 13.5
1 Steel / Fairy - 12.75
as you can plainly see, the steel type is still all over the place despite no longer resisting dark and ghost.
and for good measure, let's look at the top 5 WORST defensive type combinations:
5 Ground / Rock - 24.25
4 Ice / Bug - 24.5
3 Grass / Ice - 25
3 Grass / Bug - 25
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the Golden "Beginning of the Food Chain" award goes to...
Ice / Rock with a score of 26
sucks to be you, Amaura
just so you know, the average score of all type combinations is 19.25
