The bans aren't about balance anymore. It's about putting down things that people don't want to deal with. Baton Pass was strong, and had to be shut down because people didn't want to adapt movesets, or use some different pokemon, to deal with an up and coming playstyle.

Smogon as an idea, is good. Great, even. But they've fucked up along the road, and are too deep in the shitter to change now.
