It's not even like you need Arcanine, Metagross has a ton of checks which is why I don't think it should be banned. But it's honestly like the AV Skuntank shitposting: it's a complete non-answer. Whenever you encounter a team that doesn't have the specific pokemon that your shitmon checks, it's a liability. It's not scrub mentality, it's recognizing that good pokemon can check whatever it is you need to check without being shit in every other area, even if they don't do quite as good a job. Yeah I could have used Arcanine to counter Mawile, or I could have used Defensive Y-zard.
People dismiss shitmons for being shit AND because almost every time they're not even required.
