Would someone tell me what retarded mistake i made? i downloaded "Yet another fire red hack" and applied the ips to my Fire Red and opened it in the emulator, but it's just sitting a white screen

Ok.

So you need a clean rom. A rom that has not had any patch applied at all whatsoever. An AP patch is an anti piracy patch that you need to play. To mod, you need this to not be applied. It's as simple as searching for "unpatched fire red"
