There is absolutely no way Archie is only in his 20s. There's no reason to assume ORAS takes place the same year as the real word. Guy is at least the same age as Birch. Maxie is probably older, maybe 40. Shelly can't be older than late 20s (probably same age as Tabitha). Matt may be mid or late 20s. Courtney looks early 20s.

Different universes, same general order of events. Just as ORAS is the Megaverse equivalent of RSE, there is a DSverse equivalent of XY without mega evos, AZ, or the ultimate weapon.

What people miss about the whole two timelines thing is that FRLG/HGSS/DPPt/BWB2W2 all exist in the XY/ORAS timeline, they're just alternate versions with Mega Evolution in. Maybe we'll see them someday as remakes, but until then, just assume all the events of those games are true, there are just two versions of them in separate timelines, one with Mega Evolutions and one with none.
