I like the Mt Chimney from RSE better. Not to say the new version isn't good, but the guitar licks bring it down. I like the original Mt Pyre Peak music more as well, new one is great but not as good as original. The Mt Pyre Interior theme from ORAS is way better than the old one though.

Kageyama wrote Zinnia's battle theme, not Masuda. Masuda had nothing to do with ORAS's music outside of being one of the original composers for RSE.

What I like about FRLG's music is that Ichinose really built on RBY's songs while still being faithful. While I think Masuda did well on Gen 1's music, pretty much every song is revamped for the better while still being faithful to the originals.

I don't like a lot of HGSS's remixes because too much is changed (for worse in a lot of cases like Goldenrod City and Kanto gym leader), and I don't like ORAS's remasters either since they practically just slapped new samples on the original midis. FRLG has that perfect mix of introducing new concepts while still being respectful to the originals. Case in point, the SS Anne remix:

Coming from a person that grew up on Gen 4, does anyone here that looks at Smash Bros.'s Pokemon selection find the amounts of Gen 4 songs weird, compared to the others?

I mean, 'cause, in the recent game there's obviously a bunch of remixes from X/Y and B/W/2 since those were recent, but besides those and a lot of remixes from Gen 1, most of the past music comes more from Gen 4 instead of the other generations. I suppose it would be because Lucario's in the games for whatever reason, but I still find it weird that Gen 2 or even 3 don't get that much attention.

Thoughts?

Also for the record they fucked up the perfectly fine remix of Gen 4's battle theme in Brawl, whoever made the Smash 4 remix can suck balls
