Smogonbirds will keep around while things as Keldeo, Venusaur, Conkeldurr and the now rising Mega Gallade are being used.
Also hits hard on neutral mons.

Still, Physical walls besides Ferrothorn can deal with it easily and everyone runs Stealth Rocks these days.

Just gitgud, like you didn't with Greninja and Megagross.

It is, though. It can't be burned, which is good defensively and offensively, it can come in on earthquakes, it resists fighting moves - particularly mach punch - grass can't do shit to it, bug can't do shit to it... Both offensively and defensively it can put a lot of constraints on what is and isn't playable.

Even if it gets paralyzed it can still move first against the entire franchise, so who even gives a shit about status? Even toxic won't rack up too bad because it tends to hit and run and it kills itself by attacking anyway. Talonflame doesn't give a fuck.

Some builds don't run it, oddly enough. Priority brave bird is so fucking good that a lot of times it doesn't even need it. You can protect in front of it and if it does anything but flare blitz you know you're safe.

Smogon's ban policy is to ban anything that becomes 'over centralising' in the meta. Aegislash was literally on every team above 1500 or so and it turned everything into a 50/50 shitfest - if that's your idea of a fun and healthy metagame, more fool you. :^)
