First and foremost, I am not a genwunner, I agree that the designs of the new monsters supersede the old ones by tenfold.
I stopped playing because I honestly felt as though that the series was a major rip of and the developers didn't care about the quality of the game whatsoever.

That was around the time third gen came around, I tried it again forth gen, however it didn't match the standard of other games of the time.

I am honestly surprised because Nintendo has always stresses high game quality.

Before anyone says "it's for kids"
Look at Mario, almost every single game (with the exception of the new Super Mario bros rehash cash ins and the sports games made by different developers) was amazing.
Rpgs and platformers that could be enjoyed by all ages without bullshit head canon.

Does anyone else hold this sentiment?

And the anime? It started of promising enough, but it kept going and everyone had stale bland personalities (admitted, the voice actors had more passion in Japanese) , annoying mon of the day lessoned learned bullshit. The cherry on the shit sundae was the fact that none of the main characters could do anything if an actual cataclysmic threat occurred.
"Stop it Mewtwo"
"Stop it Deoxys"
"Stop it Arceus"

I will give the manga props though, it was actually interesting and heroes actually could do something about said threats.
