If a pokemon has an open ability slot, they could have been given a new, good ability.

If the pokemon has 2 evolutions in it's line, has no empty ability slots, and has a decent move pool, a simple increase to the BST would suffice, just like how pikachu, raichu and regular form ampharos received BST increases. A 100 BST increase is completely unnecessary unless the pokemon has a BST of bellow 400.
Also most (not all) of the mega designs are horrible.
