The only reason Belly Drum Azumaril is good at all is because assault vest is so much more popular now. It's not too hard to deal with if you understand and are psychologically prepared to deal with it. If you can just smash into it for at least 50% right away it will pretty much ruin its shot at sweeping you at any point after that. Whether they use leftovers or berry, even if they manage to get back above 50% to drum there will almost never be a safe opportunity to do so no matter what and it'll just get killed by much faster priority.

My cousin uses one so I've had a lot of experience playing against it and watching it. It sweeps sometimes but almost always because of overprediction on the opponent's part or just not expecting belly drum to be a thing anymore. Sometimes you can manipulate the game by wrangling your opponent into giving up some key things so that nothing can stop azumaril when it drums, but that's super hard to do. And he never even drums in a lot of games because it would just be a waste of a turn or throw the game. Drum is honestly pretty fairly balanced.

Both. Fairies are worse for the meta, though. Megas could be turned into something good if they were distributed solely to shitmon that already have a 3 stage evo (IE, Beedrill, Pidgeot, and etc)

Megas were handled awfully, but at least they breath some light into older Pokemon. The problem is now that since Megas were implemented so haphazardly, they will have to keep outclassing current Megas with new Megas. By Gen 8, Mega Gengar is going to be UU, and Mega-Fearow is going to be suspect-tested for Ubers.

No chance to set up vs offense. Common offense mons don't really die to aqua jet and can kill it anyways after a bd. Ass vest isn't hard to wear down. Only band azu will ever put in work vs offense.

Balanced teams usually carry a counter for it like venu or something that can KO it quick.

Stall packs a bunch if counters like venu unaware clef/quag amoongus, tenta, the list goes on.

Not that big a deal.
