Why isn't Primeape part of the team? is he really not plot-relevant anymore? they make an episode about strong feebas and Sandstorm is featured as a direct damage attack, but theres no time for a double battle with infernape and Primeape?

The backgrounds look pretty much like what we got in X/Y.

But do you want the pokemon to look like that? Because the pokemon look way worse in the anime than they do in the games.

I blame the anime for dragging down Sugimori's glorious art style into borderline moeblob.

Yes really. Misty appears in a Diamond & Pearl intro despite never appearing in that series. Advanced Generation had an intro and an outro featuring all of Ash's Pokémon. Best Wishes had an ending that included May, Max, Misty, Tracey, Gary, Paul and all of Ash's past Pokémon.

And those are just off the top of my head. At least once each generation past companions will appear in an intro or outro.
