I think the whole idea of the event only thing was a bit unfair to begin with. Especially with ones that only distributed in NYC or Japan or some shit. The whole Wi-Fi thing has made this less of an issue. But there are still so many of the event mons that haven't been given out Worldwide, and it's absolutely ridiculous.
If spoilers hadn't of come out about Deoxys at the end of Delta, it would have been quite possibly one of the GOAT moments in Pokemon history. If they make event pokemon more of a hidden goal or some kind of neat final battle, it would be so much better. We're due for a Arceus, Genesect, Mew, or Celebi episode.
