"I don't think the spike is sharp at all.
It might look pointy, but its not sharp enough to pierce flesh.
In fact, I like to imagine it being soft, delicate even.
It's said to be the physical representation of Gardevoir's metephorical heart, I would imagine it would be delicate.
In contrast, Gallade's does seem to be sharper, which would make sense as its heart is probably hardier than Gardevoir's."
