Come here with a question.

I have a male Tirtouga in my first run through of Black which I would like to make one of my starters. Thing is, shit tier nature. GTS is gone and I'm not sure how to breed this pokemon without a female version of it.

Someone talk some sense into me, it's driving me mad. How can I do it?

Is Ditto even available in Black? You'll have to forgive my ignorance, it's been years since I've played a Pokemon game and Ditto is gen1. I wasn't aware it was in the Black version. I'm currently starting in the 8th Gym town, would you happen to know if a Ditto is still going to take a while to find/obtain?

Ditto is only available on the Giant Chasm, you can check sites like serebii.net to make sure.

And sadly no, GTS and all online services are down for 5th Gen.

Have you got the fossil from your playthrough? Why don't you just soft reset to get a female or one with the desired nature?

I'm too far past the point of no return on getting to reroll for a female for breeding. Damn shame too, wasn't thinking ahead.

Really, the only point of natures is giving pokemons at lv50 or 100 a bit more of an edge, nothing else (a beneficial nature increase a bulk/attacking power by an effective 6-8%). Since you're playing on cartridge you can get the same boost by leveling up a couple of levels, and when you reach 100 it's so strong that it OHKOs anything regardless of nature
