>>22829462What I hate the most is how the first season tried a bunch of different things but after that every season is just to teach kids how to play the game. Which kind of makes sense since anybody jumping into a pokemon videogame today for the first time will likely be overwhelmed. I just feel that the anime today is made in with factory precision to just get kids hooked on pokemon. I guess it's hard to get away from the fact that pokemon is for kids. Many adults enjoy it but when they make pokemon they are thinking of kids not adults.
There are some things from the first season I wish they brought back.
Different arenas. I can't remember the last time I saw a battle in the anime that didn't take place on the same terrain. The first season had rocks, water, platforms. The only thing I saw in the new season is a sky battle but every season has that and it's downright terrible how it's implemented.
Challenging opponents. Ash still loses battles but always finds a dumb simple way to win. In the first season ash got his ass kicked because the trainer was just better than him. Now ash can beat anybody as long as he finds some strange loophole. Not to pretend that the first season had some dumb ass loopholes too.
Graphic detail. The new seasons look great in HD but they are so fucking bland I feel like I'm watching some barbie cartoon. I know everything is done in computers and things will not look like they did before (unless they do it on purpose) but there are other anime that look way better. Pokemon now has a dry characterless look to it that is just bad.
Normal Ash. Ash is dumb right. He has always been but now he is plain retarded. "I want to be a pokemon master" he sounds so brainless when he says it now because he has no character now. Again I'm not going to pretend that ash was a good character in the first season but at least he was a character. The supporting characters now take so much more screen time than ash.
Who cares it must be nostalgia.
