That fact that the Sonichu characters are Pokemon with defined evolutionary paths seems to be irrelevant in the comic. All of the chaotic characters are "Sonichu" but they all have different names and types. Sonichu apprently evolves into Metonic anyway, so he's not fully evolved and couldn't mega evolve. Ultra Sonichu is more of a super saiyan type transformation. Or Super Sonic.

Aside from the Pikachu ears and tail, they're basically Sonic characters.
But it doesn't matter because his comic entirely ignores them to focus on his own life.
