>>22841397>That doesn't stop a lot of teams right there at all. :^)It doesn't unless you're retarded
>Not that same anon, but if "waaah keeps my broh from being OU ;_:" is the argument for banning Pokemon, why isn't the whole game banned except for Magikarp and Ledyba? Who gets to pick who is important for being knocked and who isn't? Oh right SmogonfagsIt's not "muh bro isn't OU" it's the fact that stuff like Aegi had a huge chokehold on the meta. You literally could not run multiple good Pokemon because of how much influence Aegi had on the meta, instead you had to run something specifically to check Aegi.
Compare it to something like Lando-T, which doesn't really have any coverage that most Edgequake users don't already have and how it gets destroyed by pretty much any bulky water or Steel type not weak to EQ. Plus it requires constant switch-ins which builds up chip damage to the point where most things can take it out neutrally even at -1.
>only if it is 2 or less moves/abilities that Smogon fucks don't understand?Smogon is already slow as fuck testing things, and now you want them to test Blaze Blaziken, U-Turnless Genesect, Spikeless Deo-D/Deo-S, non Psycho Boost Deoxys-N/A, non-subseed Shaymin-S, Dark Voidless Darkrai, non Low Kick/Gunk Shot Greninja, non-King's Shield Aegislash, PuPless M-Kanga, Nasty Plot/SDless M-Lucario, non Sucker Punch M-Mawile among others that could be argued because they banned something you liked?
The only time complex bans are worth it is when it preserves an entire team archetype or strategy (Drizzleswim ban which was controversial, BP clause). Making a ton of single move/ability exceptions brings a whole fuckload of potential suspects when banning things, and if it doesn't work out you have to test it again. Plus the fact that the people asking for these are inevitably the lower-ladder players or people who don't even bother with Smogon tiers, tourney players just change their team and adapt.
