How come it's not possible to catch all the pokemang in the games?
I don't play pokeymang and have never finished a game but from what I can understand we're up at 600 mons now but it's only possible to catch 200 of them in the later games.

Am I being crazy or is it really bullshit?

There's a reason they have two versions of every game with very minor differences. It's because people are stupid enough to buy both.

And no game has had a few as 200 available pokemon in them for a long tme.

Most people I know with at least half a brain wouldn't buy more than one version of the game. They might buy version 3, but they'd usually sell the old one.

There's two versions to encourage trading among friends.

That's the excuse. The reason is because it increases sales.

There are a million and one ways to promote social play, "release two versions of one game" is just the one that promotes sales the most.

And you can literally get any starter you want in two minutes by breeding your starter and putting the offspring on the GTS for the starters you didn't get.
