if the Orre games actually offered a big region to explore with routes, mountains, caves and stuff i would propably consider them the best pokemon games

It is just you. That crap was so dumb for the sake of being edgy. The games were okay and I loved the double-battle only format, but the shit framerate and trance-like music had me falling asleep while playing numerous times.
