5th shiny I find in my life. This one while Ev training Chorizo, obvious as it is.
I'm guessing a lot of you found a shiny of one of the EV training pokes, which makes me wonder, what would be the top 5 of gen 6 worthless shinies?

Hell, just being in a newer game decreases shiny Pokémon's value since they get easier and easier to obtain (or Gen II, because the IV/shiny system makes it possible to exploit breeding to multiply shiny odds by orders of magnitude). Transferring them up devalues them. Especially Gen VI, since they just straight-up doubled the odds of encountering shiny Pokémon in the wild. Like, come on, what is that? Not to mention the sacrilege committed against ANY species that can be fished up, since Consecutive Fishing is so easy.

Gen III is the only generation where you can only get shiny Pokémon through the true 1/8192 chance. It's a shame.

All shinies you can find via chain finishing definitely rank up there.

Common XY EV training shinies like Vanilite also count. I think everyone has at least 1 of those by now, unless they cheat their EVs or smth.

ITT anon's implying shiny pokemon have had any value past their first appearance in GSC.

Hell they only had value until the Xploder and Action Replay got the catach shiny pokemon cheat, so shinies are less valuable than normal pokemon nowadays.

Also my first shiny ever was on Gold, caught it before school the year the game came out and it was a level 2 female Sentret.

Gyarados is still an awesome shiny. dont be such a fag about it. Lake of Rage in game event is distinguishable from a gen 6 using a lake of rage gyarados in gen 6 is pretty pleb when fishing seriously is easiest method for shinies.

Yep. Same. The first shiny I ever ran into without some sort of help (PokéRadar/Masuda Method/Consecutive Fishing/Shiny Charm/etc.) was in Alpha Sapphire. Shiny Volbeat appears and I think, "Huh, is that thing shiny? Yeah, it is. Cool." No jolt in my stomach, no prickle on my neck, no feeling of general elation. It was just neat, that was all, since I'd found it in a Gen VI game.

The crazy thing is, 1/4096 is still hella rare and that should be pretty freaking exciting. But the whole feeling is just cheapened knowing that it's not what it was; it's not what it should be.

I found 3 shinies in Ruby and 2 in Leaf Green.
In these games there is now way to improve the chance and you can't abuse the RNG like in Emerald.
Absolutely radical.

He's just shitposting with the :^). I hatched it in XY and then traded it to ORAS, as evident by the hatched in Lumiose while holding a Metagrossite, so I'm not the OT, which he pointed out.

However, my Metagross is missing Special Attack and Special Defense, which it would not be if I had injected it. It's also Adamant, as that was the smart nature to have before Mega-Metagross was announced.
