I mean ORAS aren't "shit," that title goes to XY, but I don't think ORAS lives up to the originals at all with its design choices, whether it be lack of Frontier, Safari Zone becoming a glorified route, no Game Corner (obviously it wouldn't fly to have the gambling but we could've at least gotten a Voltorb Flip-esque substitute), Mallville, list goes on.
