I will never play a Pokemon game again unless they add a hard mode. This shit is getting ridiculous. Now you don't even need to grind levels due to EXP share. The exploration isn't fun anymore either because the maps are getting worse. I'm sticking to PokemonShowdown.

I used to grind just so my pokemon were on the same level as the gym leaders. I didn't need to in order to beat them but it felt more fun that way.

I'm tired of retards complaining about how Exp Share makes the game too easy when they can just fucking turn it off. I bet they complain about being handed overpowered Pokemon too and they use them anyway.

No, making a game difficult is poor game design, especially for a game for kids.

If the game is too hard, casuals won't like it, and the casual market is by far the biggest. However, adding stuff to the game that you can turn off to increase the challenge makes the base game easy to appeal to casuals, while still giving the hardcores a way to get the difficulty they want. Everybody wins.

'Cuz you know, grinding puts a big, boring halt in your adventure? I think the EXP Share's too much but honestly it seems like we always complain about "it's not tedious/grindy, so it sucks!"

You do know it's up to you to make the game hard right?

>Turn off EXP share as soon as you get it
>Change battle style to SET, like a REAL pokemon battle
>wait until 4 badges to evolve your pokemon to stage 2. Then wait until 6 or 8 to evolve to stage 3.
>Don't use pokemon you know will mop the floor with everyone
>Don't even have a full team, max out at five, six will be an HM only pokemon ( which let's be honest, is what most people do anyway )

>Add nuzlocke rules if that's how you get your jollies

I played both X and OR with the experience share off and I still never grinded a single level. I agree, pokemon needs a hard mode with good AI, not just an HP/attack power boost like most hard modes in games.

No really you can make the game as hard as you want it to be. The generic way to play has always been easy and will remain easy.

The actually challenging bit is supposed to be the online modes where you face other people. High level PS is a pretty hard game to play and its still Pokemon.

I didn't mean to sound like that, I was just pointing it out. I don't want to have to grind in a Pokemon game, I just want an AI that is much closer to human.

This. The challenge was me being a dumbass kid who showed up to the E4 underlevelled with a Delcatty. Once you know how to pick a decent team and you can now easily trade them in at the start of the game the difficulty is gone. I would really like a hard mode though.

When I was a kid, all the games were quite literally "NES hard." There is nothing wrong with a game for children being challenging or at least having a hard mode unlocked from the start. In fact, I'd argue it's better than giving kids super easy games, kids these days are too soft.
