Last time on Poke Ball Z...
Mike and his team had taken quite a beating, but they were still on their feet somehow. Or, the Pokemon were, anyway. The trainer himself was KO'd, and in serious trouble if he took any more damage.

Samus, Mike's Blaziken, had taken charge of combat among that team. She was currently fighting an opposing Sawk, and the opponent had the upper hand for the moment. Looking to turn that around, a Sky Uppercut was thrown at the dressed-up opponent.

Speaking of dressed-up, there was a second team member on the battlefield. Sophia, Mike's Gardevoir, was getting to her feet after having used a Revive to patch up half a dozen bullet wounds. She was still lacking a way to contribute offensively; as such, she was pulling together her remaining energy to prepare a Teleport in case of emergency. She'd managed to shake off the shock for now, but it would be several more rounds before she'd be ready to warp again.

The men manning the guns would prove to be in the way of shredding anything, though at this point the barrels had been bent backwards from the impact.

The destruction was enough for the gunners to bail out, the ones still standing quickly making their way out while two of the engineers stayed behind, tossing a charge into the unfired shells before jumping clear off the roof onto the ground below, apparently not even carrying about what injuries they could get.

The Massive firey punch would smack into the bell with a very loud GONG which would echo throughout the entire valley, critically wounded the massive steel monster could barely hover forwards before the commander ordered one last move from it, using it's bulk to brace from the blast he knew was coming

Within a few seconds the charges would blow, taking what was left of the shells, the battered guns, and some of the masonry with them.

Cool guys don't look at explosions. They blow things up and then walk away. That's how the song goes, so let's see how well Stolloss' actions match up.

Blow things up? Not exactly. Sure, the flaming punch was enough to nearly-terminate the enemy bell, but it didn't cause the explosion. However, there was an explosion, so we'll count that as a yes.
Walk away? Stolloss didn't stick around for very long once the bell had been punched. Sure, the wreck of those 88s looked mighty tasty, but there were other things to destroy before a meal was to be eaten. So yes, the giant iron dinosaur did in fact turn and walk away, leaving the majority of the explosion to impact against its backside. Still painful, but nowhere near the "Oh fuck God, that actually hurt" levels of pain that it could have easily been.

To reiterate- There was an explosion, but Stolloss turned around to walk away. Stolloss didn't look at the explosion. Is Stolloss a cool guy? I'd sure think so.

It was official; there was nothing left in that sector to smash, so Stolloss went off in search of other enemy things to smash. Turnings its head skyward, the giant dinosaur let out a tremendous roar, hastening its return to the center of battle to cause further harm to the enemy.

Thankfully for the soldiers the surf attacks would be able to muffle through it as each blast of water washed over leaving some downed but the rest holding their ground against the attack as they braced themselves for the next wave, the two electric types returning fire with their own bolts.

The Cannon would look across at the oncoming pokemon, the soldiers manning it opening up on it with a rain of HE shells that would soon spread to cover the skies.

Guy with an MP40? That would have been a problem, if not for Stahlos' timely arrival. After being thrown at the 88 emplacements, the iron snake had returned to defend its master, coiling around Hans as the 9mm bullets bounced harmlessly off its thick iron hide. Well, that's not entirely true. Even a small cut, when made many times over, can kill. But the iron snake's armor was strong, and it would take at least a thousand more of the tiny bullets before its hide would break.

Good news for the soldiers, though. As long as Stahlos was busy protecting its master, the iron snake couldn't effectively launch a counterattack without risking Hans to more bullets. So it was kind of stuck here, for now, with little else to do but roar at the enemies that dared to fire on its master.

The momentum was finally swinging back in the direction the team liked; now that the Sawk had been dispatched, Samus could see her next opponent already taking its place. The Blaziken had leapt high enough with her Sky Uppercut to react before landing. She had intended to generate another Earthquake... but the collateral damage would be too much to be worth it. Something was calling to the .4 swarm, a more forceful presence of their own kind. But for now it only succeeded in distracting some of them.

Detecting the threat, PT is unable to do anything about it. Its sway over the .4 was only that they wanted a purpose, and if one of their own kind kept calling to them with one its own would become obsolete. For now it focused on taking out the heavy cannon, zipping around the shells as they fell and sending the shrapnel back where it came from.

Dodging and waving around the attacks, BM directed his dragon downwards. They were too exposed in the air. Pointing towards the gun emplacement PT was attacking, he ordered it as the target. During its approach the Dragonite whips up a massive windstorm, while the Beheeyem on its back sends spikes out of the ground to impale the crew.

Turning away might have made an impressive sight, the cooking off ammunition leaving a cloud of soot in the air behind it as the pokemon went after the closest remaining guard, but it also left it blind to the man who recalled the KOed Bell pokemon, an insane grin on his face as he tossed out the next pokeball, a skull faced pokemon stepping out and coming to a landing, hefting it's bone one handedly as it rushed up to the edge of the building and tossed the bone one handedly towards the monster's back.

The remaining crewmen fell back to the doors of the temple itself and took shelter behind the barricades there, manning whatever was still left before the doors.

The soldiers who were still free, merely faced down the growling steel beast, deciding to fire off shots whenever it looked like there was a gap in order to stall it until ammo ran out... which wouldn't be long.

Stolloss' rampage was interrupted by a club, large and bone-shaped, being thrown at its backside. It, like so many other objects, bounced off the iron plating of the dinosaur's backside. But, it was nonetheless and effective way of drawing the monster's attention elsewhere.

Stolloss sized up the competition- Small, brownish, with a bone-white facial mask. Giving a great roar, the iron dinosaur charged, rushing the creature on all fours. When it neared the target, it shifted its weight, and twisted its body around so that it was gliding towards the Marowak tail-first. Stolloss' stout iron tail became enveloped in a bright azure sheen as it swung the appendage down upon the smaller foe.

On the other side of the battle, Stahlos continued to provide excellent defensive cover to Hans, blocking every round fired by the enemy. But there was still no way to return an attack.

"Stahlos, cover me while I grab a weapon" Hans ordered. The iron snake went flat and low, creating a defensive line that went towards a cluster of downed men. Down Hans went, crawling prone towards the cluster. Atop the pile of bodies was a man gripping an STG44. Prying the automatic rifle from the corpse's hands, Hans peeked over the top of his iron snake.

Enemy spotted.
Shots fired.

Hans ducked as more bullets shot towards his position. He'd have to do this without aiming. Hoisting the rifle up over the cover provided by Stahlos, Hans began to fire blindly in the general direction of his enemies.

The barrage was sent out, one of the shells impacting the dragon and knocking it out of the air, its passengers along with it. Getting up stubbornly the Dragonite lunged at the gun emplacement, attempting to tear one of the cannons away from its crew. The Beheeyem kept its focus on the soldiers, attempting to impale them from behind this time.

Drizz'l and Bikke were initially confused when the soldiers began panicking and returning their Pokemon. Then they looked up to see the projectiles descending. Bikke looked over to his Machamp only to see it down... but fortunately, Garland was to the rescue, peeking out of the anthill to fire a revival at the Fighting Type. "Quick! Cover us!"

Looking up, the Machamp sees the massive wave of artillery shells coming down on everything and lifts one leg, stomping down. Then the next, taking a wide stance and outstretching its arms. A field of energy suddenly expanded throughout the area. Shimmering outlines appeared around the Machamp's comrades.

While control was not achieved, the glitches were certainly distracted now. The .4 had ceased to attack even as a few took Thunderbolts and went down, trying to puzzle through conflicting orders. For now they assumed a passive defensive formation.

PT had no such problems and joins in trying to bring down the heavy cannon bunker.

The scientist would see that he's completely out of his league here and try to find something better to do while he waited it out.

The Skull pokemon would hold the arm aloft as the bone returned to it's master, the pokemon leaping down to meet the beast head on, dodging under the tail swipe before repeating the strike from before, switching hands for each one before coming to another landing hopefully out of the way this time.

The Colonel's own weapon soon forced some of the other men down as well, their own side now making pot shots towards the Colonel's arm while trying ot keep their own bodies out of the line of fire before halting completely as the Mortar Barrage began raining down the men too busy waiting it out to fire back.

Stolloss' tail slammed into the ground, missing the enemy target by a fair breadth as the smaller, more agile target darted under the attack. Another strike it made with the bone club, this one connecting. The club smashed into Stolloss' face, sending the metal dinosaur into a screaming pain-fueled frenzy. Down came the tail, again and again, as it tried to stamp out the annoying little pest that had managed to injure it.

A combination of period small arms resumed their firing campaign against Hans, loosing a stream of 8mm and 9mm bullets against a small target hiding behind a big shield. At an angle where he was unable to see the enemy's return fire, the Colonel was unable to dodge as an enemy bullet clipped his hand, forcing him down behind his impenetrable iron snake. He took a moment to catch his breath, as he surveyed the damage done. "That was close..." he said, eying the wound. "Another five centimeters and that would have torn my finger off."

Dry of ammo for his pilfered rifle, Hans made another crawl over to the weapon's previous owner, grabbing a spare magazine from a pouch on the corpse's belt. Reloading, he peeked over his cover once more, before ducking down to blindly fire another volley.

The strike would hit one of the cliff walls causing the beast to be lodged in it along with the bird, thankfully throwing both of them out of range of the incoming shells. The beast would struggle out of it's hold before letting go again, attempting one more chomp on the Blaziken before forcing itself to let go.

The healing spell would activate long enough for the pokemon to force itself up again, but it was clear it wouldn't last for long under the oncoming barrage that began pounding it, it seemed that most of the enemy had wised up ahead of time, the survivors by now regrouping along the final line, or hiding somewhere further still, still that couldn't be said for everyone, the distraction being enough to keep them from attacking for now.

The group that attacked the glitches soon made their stand around one of the statues, firing back towards the glitches as they clustered around it, the remaining soldiers waiting for the bombardment to let up first.

The two explosives sent force and shrapnel flying everywhere, blasting the Dragonite and Beheeyem out of the fight. Sitting up from where he'd fallen among the rubble earlier, BM returns the two, taking note of the anti-healing field. He mentions aside to Wonder, "Might be best to hide until I need you." With a nod the Spiritomb collapsed inwards back into the hidden pocket dimension.

Calling out his Holon Sandslash and Arbok once more, Mage directs them to the remaining soldiers in cover. "Go give them hell."

The grenades were less effective on PT than the other Pokemon, but still blasted it flat to the ground and left it shaken. Rather than immediately rejoin the brawl it shored up its defenses further and charged energy.

That last Poison Fang had taken quite a bit out of Samus; the Blaziken had momentarily been too stunned to fight back. Something didn't sit right with her, though... She was almost out of stamina as it was. Why didn't it strike the finishing blow? Why did it choose to further enhance itself instead? The answer might be made clear in time, but she couldn't afford to wait that long. Rushing at the Arbok one last time, she looked to be going for another Sky Uppercut... but instead went for a Fire Blast at melee range.

Sophia was still having problems getting started with that Teleport power... Those shots had taken a lot more out of her than she'd expected. If she could just keep enemy fire off her, she'd be fine in a few rounds, but she needed to be able to focus... [Evens builds a charge, odds doesn't; 3 charges needed to finish preparing a Teleport.]

The Skull pokemon's throw would bounce off a far more denser part of Stolloss armor with no effect, the pokemon swiftly catching it enough to parry the incoming tail strike, it seemed that the creature's massive size proving to be an advantage and a disadvantage against the smaller denser foe as it would go in for another pair of blows it's owner directing it from above even as he looked in the direction of the pinned Colonel.

The soldiers themselves seemed to be feeling little better, whatever pokemon they could send out would hold themselves at a disadvantage against the massive Steel snake, not that they didn't try, continuing to fire away at it simply to keep harassment going.

Stolloss' tail went wide, again slamming into bare ground as the smaller foe dodged the attack. Up went the club, once more slamming into the jaw of the steel dinosaur. Stolloss roared in pain again, bringing the tail down again.

Out of ammo again. Empty mag goes out, fresh mag goes in. Once over the snake, so far so good...

The air beside Hans' face was sliced in two by the whizzing 8mm bullet, clipping his brow and drawing blood. The cut was deep, and were the Colonel to look in the mirror, he would see that the bullet had cut down to bone. Blood flowed from the wound, limiting vision in his left eye, and he swore in pain. Still, over the top he went again, sighting in the enemy before ducking down and blindly returning fire.

Their digging efforts would slow as they reached the stones above the soldiers, the delay allowing them enough time to pull clear of the hole and take advantage of the close quarters to suddenly pounce on them, a few of them attacking with almost inhuman strength, one smashing into Bikke before tossing him away with an almost inhuman strength while another parried Drizz'l's slash with what looked like a pole before turning it against him and aiming to smash both sides into him in return, Garland's armor would prove to be too much of a trouble for any of them though, the two he found himself fighting instead pulling back for a distance to shoot.

As the two Pokemon attacked from the other side, the Dark Warriors continued their own efforts. Bikke was thrown away into a statue, briefly stunned as the Durant bit at his attacker. Drizz'l ducked under the first attack, but the follow-up got him across the cheek and sent him reeling. Rolling under the attacker's legs, he launches up at another behind them with a kick back to his feet. Back in the fight now, Bikke picks up the (rather startled) metal ant and starts swinging it as a weapon.

The roar of pain gave it enough time to leap back again, but at the signal of it's owner the beast would merely make one last toss of the heavy bone before attempting to move away from the wounded steel beast to face the oncoming black Mage.

The arrival of the newcomers forced them to move away from firing upon the colonel towards the more greater threat which would crash into them, two men would go down under the strength, one with his thick uniform torn revealing and loosening the armored plates under it, the wounded soldier would merely grab to force pokemon to let go, delivering a death grip on the snake as it did so. The other would respond with a blast of gunfire towards the sandslash even as his still unattacked partner would fall back even more.

The Beast wouldn't have long to notice before the rumbling intensified even more as it could turn to see the final group of soldiers guarding the doors themselves.

The grenade would flash against the massive monster's hide with little effect, the debris barely even scratching the hardened anicent material it was created from, the charging Stolloss did at least do a little more damage, the recoil pushing the beast back several inches as it braced against the Aggron, their sizes almost matching as it wrestled it away before going at it with another punch like before.

After a short break to recharge the batteries, the active team was ready to get back in the fight. Sophia was still stuck building up power for a Teleport; she was close to it, but time wasn't something they could spare.

It would be up to Samus to jump in right away to stop... whatever that rumbling was. It would take one giant leap to get up to where the sound was coming from... Even with her natural leaping ability, this Blaziken would need a running start. A short distance would be all she needed to get up to speed, but the jump would take several seconds to land from. Drizztl's series of slashes would finally bring the man down from blood loss, the other fighting Bikke woudl fall back as well in pain, one of them still alert enough to shout for a medic.

Their portion of the area would look instantly clear, but sweeping out to clean up the rest would leave them open to a counter attack from the remaining soldiers, they'd also spot a large tunnel to the west that looked manned as well.

The earthquake would knock the ones fleeing to the ground long enough for Garland's Giant fruitcake to splat on them, leaving them pretty well pinned there.

The rest of them stood with their back literally against the wall, the soldiers tossing out everything they had on them to stand in front of them to face down the others, various pokemon, weapons, and leftover equipment putting them in place to make a final standoff, even as some of them were edging away from the doors and the giant ass Regi that was rampaging in front of everyone.

The first ones to charge would be a Magmar and Piloswine, both hitting with a flamethrower and an Ice shard on Bikke and Drizzl respectively.
