But I agree, it's a broken ability. Thick Fat's already Venusaur's gig too so that's not really an option. I'd say Solid Rock; it's basically as good as it can get defensively without being broken. Don't forget it has access to Stockpile too to boost both its defenses and Curse to become a physical wall.

252+ Atk Choice Band Talonflame Brave Bird vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Solid Rock Mega Torterra: 240-285 (60.9 - 72.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Atk Tough Claws Mega Charizard X Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Solid Rock Mega Torterra: 294-348 (74.6 - 88.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
In each case Torterra can OHKO back. Mega Abomasnow is the only mon able to guarantee OHKO:
252+ SpA Mega Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Solid Rock Torterra: 396-468 (100.5 - 118.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO
Mold Breaker clones also get it, but that's still only a small number of Pokemon.
