Somebody in the previous thread suggested that they do Kanto 20 years after RBY to celebrate the 20th anniversary, with Blue as the new professor and changes aplenty to the region, which would be cool as fuck
Otherwise they should just do FireRed/LeafGreen remakes (Sevii Islands and all), but just pack them with features from other games: You get a follower Pikachu in Viridian Forest, Jesse/James and all of the Pokemon Yellow features return in some form, lots more foreshadowing to GSC in the post-game, as well as stuff like seasons, time-based events, a post-game Battle Facility (the blank spot of land in Vermillion City?), DexNav and the like
Either way, a vanilla RBY remake won't cut it at all. Until Game Freak sorts their act, I don't want them going anywhere my beloved Kanto
