Absolutely not.
I am and will always be a kid at heart. I'm 25 with a stepson and a 8-year-old little brother. I just got my brother into Pokemon, and I feel a certain sense of pride at how much he's taken to the things I was into as a kid. Legos, video games, pokemon... he even plays Minecraft with me sometimes.

At any rate, part of being an adult is deciding what makes you happy, and for me, exercising my inner child from time to time certainly does that for me.

Closest I came to feeling shame was going tog get the code for that event Diancie. Since it's all... pink and frilly and shit.

as kids we used to do 6v6 with the trading cards on the blacktop

I shudder to think of how thrashed I let my cards get shuffling them at the local card store tournaments later on

All i know is if Gamefreak doesn't step up, Imma drop this series like a bad habit.

They were showing so much promise with Platinum, HGSS, and BW(2) and suddenly, they're just fucking up now. What in gods name happened?
There's tons of missing features from previous entries, and the balance is even worse than the whole weather wars sheningans called Gen 5 meta.

Z has to be absolutely incredible for me to even consider playing at this point, but I'm not expecting anything. What I seriously think what gamefreak needs (besides another person in charge) is a strong competitor, and I'm not talking about Youkai Watch cause that shit's even worse.

I played the fuck out of Platinum & HG/SS and the Gen 4 meta. Not saying BW2 wasn't great as well but I didn't play competitive as much in Gen 5.

Gen 6 overall is disappointing so far. I was hoping ORAS would be my ultimate Pokemon game, but we all know how that turned out..

21 and I have played everything since Red. It's just like any other hobby. If people ask me what I do for fun or what games I play, I'll answer honestly about it because people only bothered asking if they're interested.

I especially enjoy talking to little kids about pokemon. It's one of the aces up my sleeve if I need to convince them I'm cool.

25 here, my first game was Yellow. Only skipped Gen 3 because I didn't have a GBA. In general, Pokemon has been with me all the time and until today, it's still my favorite series, it's just a huge world and so much social interaction it's very hard to get bored.

No, I feel shame for people who play the main games. It's fine to play the good main games like FRLG, Emerald and gen V games but not every single new one because it means you have no standards. FRLG were how the first games were supposed to be. Emerald had fun areas and gen V was a breath of fresh air with a lot of new pokemon you had to use in the first one and lots to do postgame in the sequels. Those games used the formula in a good way. Anyone that it's prepared to pay for the same every year are no better than the dudebros that always buy AAA games, in fact they're much worse because most of them have some replay value. Every main pokemon game is the same as the difference between Farcry 3 and Farcry 4. It makes sense that a bad company like gamefreak work for a bad company like Nintendo.

They have bad story and whenever the bad story is brought up, people just say "it's a pokemon game, what do you expect?" And that's just sad. If the objective and gameplay is the same then what else are you playing the game for? It's not a game like any other, it's a game for people with no standards and manchildren. Kids don't even play the games anymore because they play on xboxes, ps4s and tablets leaving an audience of people who don't know what a game is.
