Yes, I'm happy because had there been gym rematches, other features like would have been cut because the games were rushed, and it could already do better in that regard.

All that needed to be done was copypaste Emerald teams and dialogue while slapping on some post-Gen 3 Pokemon, which literally would have taken a few hours at most. The framework for trainer rematches is already in ORAS and used everywhere in the game, and the trainer notification list even has the fucking gym leaders in it.

Gym leader rematches would probably have meant no soaring or no dexnav.

Aside from rematches, I liked the match call feature. There's just something about ringing up npcs for no good reason that I liked.
