mismatched abilities thread. Pic related already has an Electric/Ground typing so it's double immune to Thunder Wave and immune to paralysis in general. So why give it Limber?

Up until Gen 5, Electric types could still get paralyzed through the use of Glare, Body Slam and Normalize Thunderwave.

The ability was meant to reflect how Stunfisk wasn't effected by its own paralyzing jolts of electricity when attacking prey.

Then Generation 6 happened and fucked everything up by preventing electric types from being paralyzed.
Because you know. Body Slam is clearly applying an electric based status and not literally breaking the opponents back leaving them paralyzed.

Why do Doublade and Honedge have No Guard when all their attacks are already 100% accuracy? I mean, I guess you could use them to hose Double Team and Minimize shenanigans, but they could have at least given them Stone Edge so they could use it naturally.

Personally, I would give them Hyper Cutter. Still nothing special, but it fits the sword theme well.

I always figured that electric types being paralysed were retarded. Not beacause it's an electrical status condition, but I imagine that they can move their bodies because they use the electricity in their bodies to do so.

Looking through Honedge's first 4 moves that it learns, Metal Sound and Fury Cutter already have below perfect accuracy. Just looking at TMs, Toxic and rock slide both have 90%, and the former is really important on an eviolite Doublade

It probably still has some uses with Insomnia but with some of the main sleeping moves of Sleep Powder and Spore not effective Grass anymore, it just doesn't feel as useful as it could be.

In Generation 5 it was still able to be paralyzed by Glare and other variants, it's very similar to Rotom-Fan which got its typing in Gen 5 but was still Ghost/Electric in 4.
