In general though 3v3 is faster paced which makes setting up more difficult and makes it easier to dispatch offensive threats. Stealth Rock is also rare which makes it a bit easier for defensive Pokemon to switch in safely if you want to play that way, even though the metagame doesn't revolve around defensive "counters" like Smogon forces 6v6 to be.
