Alright /vp/, I'm new to the competitive scene and have been messing around on showderp a bit with varying results but one fact remains the same...I can't decide on what 'mons I want to use.

So how do you guys form teams? Do you pick a few select favorites and fill in the blanks? Pick a theme and build around that? Which method(s) have produced the best results?

I've resorted to making a list of my "favorites" (or 'mons of interest) of each type and then plan on whittling the list down. Will post it if anyone is willing to help me sort through it for a bit (it's not too long).
