Actually I've used eq on mvenu before and it wasn't bad tbh.
Same with stallbreaker mega zardy who used flare blitz and eq to run over heatran.
Rest of it makes sense

Was thinking more like making absol/steelix better

prankster -> rattled or weak armor (m-banette's whole gimmick is priority destiny bond, but it can be very easily played around. A speed boost from rattled/weak armor can help with cleaning power, along with making destiny bond useful)
75 speed -> 88 speed
93 sp atk -> 73 sp atk
75 def -> 92 def

It goes from A+ in UU to B or C, you just fucking wasted 40 points on defenses, it's still frail as fuck and can't take even resisted hits.

Would a water/steel mega blastoise be better or worse? I just think the typing fits

The only changes i would make to megas in general would be letting pokemon that become dragon types after mega evolution learn draco meteor if they are holding their mega stones, and for acrobatics to not consider mega stones a hold item, making acrobatics a recoil-less and slightly weaker brave bird

Just take 20 points off attack and put them in speed, it'll only be a +10 increase from base garchomp, speed boost/tough claws seem retardedly good, i would give it intimidate since his design looks more menacing

M Blastoise is a great counter to LandoT right now taking neutral damage from all its attacks and being able to fire an Ice beam right back. While Steel type does give it some decent resistances like fairy and make Flash Cannon STAB, I think the weaknesses to fighting and ground hurts it a bit.

Or just add Ice beam to the list of boosted moves. If you're really greedy have them make a grass type Nature Pulse to deal with azumarril or other bulky waters

I think that +20 to sp atk on Mega Blastoise would be better suited to go into speed. All of its pulse moves and Water spout already hit really hard. The problem is that Blastoise is too fast for trick room and too slow for anything else
