You misunderstand.
An attack foes half as much damage as it would at full. So an attack dealing 100hp normally, deals 50hp damage when mscale is active.
Not leave you at half hp.

Greninja (or any Ice type with a 98 base Sp. attack or higher with max investment, which means Jynx and Kyurem) can one-shot Dragonite with Ice Beam, even with Multiscale active.
Obviously Blizzard does it at a much lower threshold

Besides, Goodra only gets Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Breath, and Outrage

All of those moves would've fit on Sliggoo by virtue of being entirely generic shit given to fucking Kangaskhan and Steelix.

They could easily justify all of it by making it look not like a purple plush Dragonite missing all of its actual dragon features.
Hence the complaints. Any complaints you have about sliggoo and goomy would be passed down to Goodra for being the thing that's supposed to fix those complaints.

I could deal with Goomy and Sliggoo being dragons too, they have things like color scheme and the RPG trope theme going for them. Sure, maybe these prepubescent dragons will turn into a dragon creature.
But then Goodra turns out to not be anything like a dragon at all. Ruining any previous justification by being a soft and squishy purple fat thing that has absolutely no dragonic qualities outside of possibly color scheme.
Goomy is excused for being the developing stages of a dragon, which given Axew, Trapinch, Horsea, Gible, and Dratini, could be fucking anything.
Goodra's the final form of a dragon, it should look like a dragon at that point. As previously stated, it has zero dragon-like features.

I mean, just google it if you wanna know everything about it. But yes, sort of. Wrap would still be in effect on the turn you switched out, so it would give you a free switch (well, better than free; you get incremental damage with it).

And yes, it sort of required higher speed to "abuse" in the strictest sense. If you were faster, the opposing pokemon could literally do nothing until it died (unless you missed at some point, which could very well happen).

Even if you were slower, though, you would still just take the hit (first gen, 3-, 4-, and 5HKOs were considered fine), Wrap them after, and they would be locked up for 2-5 turns, at which point you can switch to a counter or whatever.

To my knowledge, Fire Spin worked the same way, but it was less widely distributed. Notably, Fire Spin could hit Ghost-types.

Wrap couldn't damage Ghosts, but it could still immobilise them. It was THAT good.

They can both be bulky, but in different ways. Salamance has intimidate and Dragonite has multiscale.
The difference: Dragonite has more bulk and survival power and Salamance has Tanking power
They both have ways to set up in the form of dragon dance.
Dragonite has priority like E speed and Aqua Jet while Salamance doesn't
Salamance has a mega and Dragonite does well with Weakness policy
Salamance is much better in doubles but Dragonite is better in the rain
Salamance uses its secondary stab through Aerilate and Dragonite has Hurricane

Dragonite and Salamance have the relationship i want Flygon and Garchomp to have.
I hope that Flygon gets Quiver Dance and maybe a hidden ability other than levitate like Arena Trap or a bug version of Aerilate

Anyway, stop complaining. Dragonite is very viable. you can be the only person using it and still win.

To be honest a lot of my salt for Gooodra is that Goomy and Sliggo look so great and I like snails/molluscs a lot, and then Goodra turned out to be a fat sack of shit (it's the 'shit' part I really take umbrage with, not the 'fat') that looks neither like a snail nor like a dragon. So most of the blame goes to Sugimori for ruining a different designer's line of pokemon.
