disgusting. Gentoo was the funnest game to catch em all with when I was a kid since I had that backwards compatibility and a bro had the counterpart version. I remember the roamers were fun as a kid since a bunch of us had the game at the same time so we would race to see who the first once to catch one was during sleep overs.

My first game was technically SoulSilver.
I played Red and Silver as a kid, but was too young to give a shit about either of them. I just rarecandymissingno glitched my way to lv99 and ran through the games.

It's a gen 2 cartridge and has your first ever team, right? That means that either your underage or the cartridge is old as fuck, which means it should have lost the save file years ago.

Gen 1 cartridges last longer than Gen 2 ones because they don't have to keep the time. Having to keep track of the time on the Gen 2 carts makes the batteries drain much faster, so practically all Gen 2 cartridges have lost their saves unless the batter has been replaced (which loses the save in the process)

My Red cartridge still works, and I bought it not too long after it came out in the EU. I also have like two hundred hours of playtime on it since I was painfully autistic and beat the League about fifty times.
